thank you for your comment. the work 'hjem' (home) is done with collage and acrylic on canvas. i have stopped painting with oil because of practicality. my inspiration comes from my surrounding, the mass media and the net. sometimes i think i spent too much time on the computer. i love living in the city and enjoy the hustle bustle and the chaotic life style.they gives me lots of input and source of inspiration, but i also do love living in an island with crystal clear 30 degrees salt water. best of luck abby and stay healthy. |

Abby, I enjoy 'Gepetto' and 'Prankster', you seem right on the money as for the Abex imperatives...I would like to see a detail of your surface, of the brush stroke. I especially like the density and exuberence of 'Sugar Pill', the open forms working very well for you. Mad coloration, you must have to use the whip and chair to control it... |

Thanks for your nice comments about my work. In answer to to your questions, I generally paint with oils on canvas, I did a couple of wooden boxes like the one you see here. Really the concept occurred to me and I gave it a shot and although I don't think I realized the impossible notion that I had, the end results were kind of interesting. |

I really like the ideas you set forth on your website: primitive surrealism. I am a surrealist fan... of course Dali, but I am an abstract expressionist by trade, so I love the combination of the surrealism with the idea of primitive... i.e. coming from the deepest recesses of the mind. Am I wrong? Beautiful work: Planet Z. I love the energy and color of your works. Bravo. |

Very nicely done detail. Beautiful face and eyes. I love the halo of detail around her head. Is this on piece of blue stained glass? I detect the ripple of stained glass and the luminosity of the background really look like it is glowing from behind. If it is not glass bravo on texture and use of the paint. Bravo anyway. I love the idea of it being blue glass in one color as opposed to the over dramatics of most modern stained glass works. |

Painting with oil can be very time consuming, but I find that the lustre of the oils is a benefit worth taking the time. I personally like to paint in my studio in the woods. I detest large cities or even large groups of people. I prefer to work in solitude with nature all around me. I suppose each artist is inspired by different environments. As long as the work is honest, it will always be a reflection of human nature in all its many facets so the more diverse the artists are, the greater chance humankind has of understanding nature and human nature through art... and what a fun endeavor. Bravo on your works and keep being honest as your works so profoundly are. |

Very nice work. I like how you work in various styles and mediums. Way to flex the artistic muscles. "Sideshow": very Dali meets impressionism. Fabulous combination. Thanks for your kind comments on my work. It's always nice to hear from other talented artists. |

Fabulous color and energy. Love the composition... reminds me of cubism in a way. Thanks for the comments on Sugar Pill. In answer to your question, the surface of my works are very textured. I sometimes, as with Sugar Pill, use the tube of paint to draw lines. I use splatter and the mirror adds a lot of depth to the piece. Thanks again. I love this piece. I'm currently working with a lot of yellow and orange and red, but you have really mixed these colors well. Bravo. |

This is definitely my favorite piece you have on display. It has such energy. Very whimsical and I love the black background, it really makes the foreground pop out. What is your primary medium? Oil Pastels perhaps. Wonderful use of color that balances beautifully. Bravo. |

Thanks so much for commenting on my page. I really appreciate it. Most people seem to be just tourists and they view, but don't leave comments. I really like constructive criticism it only helps us grow as artists. By gallery wrapped I mean that each piece is 2 inches deep with canvas wrapped around the edge which is ideal for hanging in a gallery or for any display where you don't want a traditional frame. I paint around the two inches and the sides are part of the painting so that in walking around the canvas one can see the image continue. It adds a sense of depth when viewing the original piece. Maybe there is another term I'm not familiar with, if you could let me know that would be great. |

Very impressive, imaginative, 3-dimentional painting. Wow. What is your primary medium? What movement would you say best describes your paintings? Is it abstract? I love it. Please take a look at my pieces and tell me what YOU think. I would love some feedback. |

Gorgeous work of art. I love the way my eye travel around the piece. Excellent sense of balance and color. Shape and line work wonderfully. Picasso of the new age. I will study your art with great enthusiasm. Overall I am extremely impressed and can't wait to see more. What medium do you use? Is this computer art? Is this painting? Tell me more? |

Wonderful use of the medium. Nice originality of idea, but pay more attention to content balance. The paintings seem to be focus heavy in one particular area. The eye has trouble traveling around and into the painting. Love the titles of your works. Overall, I really admire your control of the oil medium. |

Wonderful use of shadow to create a sense of depth in this piece. Nice use of the oil medium to create a silky sense of flow as well. I think that you are portraying a real scene, but your choice of topics is very surrealist. I like it. I like the confusion of realism and surrealism, the idea is inspiring and makes me look again and again. |

I like the integration of a surrealist/realist background with the Pollock inspired foreground. Be careful that the foreground doesn't just stay in the front and that it is integrated into the whole of the piece. The splatter in the left bottom section seems to be stuck on top, whereas the upper portion is beautifully integrated and erupts out of the background. Overall a beautiful inventive piece of art. I shall study your works with great enthusiasm. |

Fascinating title for this image. I like the texture and the color variations. Be careful that your texture doesn't get in the way of the image. The top of the painting works marvelously, but the bottom texture seems to fail the overall painting. Watch out that the corners of your painting participate in the overall piece as well, once again the top works well, but the bottom falls short again. Overall, very creative and inspiring. |
