Thanks so much for commenting on my page. I really appreciate it. Most people seem to be just tourists and they view, but don't leave comments. I really like constructive criticism it only helps us grow as artists. By gallery wrapped I mean that each piece is 2 inches deep with canvas wrapped around the edge which is ideal for hanging in a gallery or for any display where you don't want a traditional frame. I paint around the two inches and the sides are part of the painting so that in walking around the canvas one can see the image continue. It adds a sense of depth when viewing the original piece. Maybe there is another term I'm not familiar with, if you could let me know that would be great. |

March 1, 2008 8:11 pm Very impressive, imaginative, 3-dimentional painting. Wow. What is your primary medium? What movement would you say best describes your paintings? Is it abstract? I love it. Please take a look at my pieces and tell me what YOU think. I would love some feedback. |

September 30, 2007 5:33 pm Work: Figures In a BoxI would like to see this work in big proportions, in a huge ceiling for example. It is like a fantastic fight from which we only get a clue now and then. A turmoil of energy that excludes the viewer, something like asisting to a fabulous fight we know is happening at the other side of a door we cannot open. |

September 26, 2007 10:05 pm I love Velazquez for his modernity. Vermeer for his sense of space and teaching us how and how not to use the camera. Cezanne of course, as the ultimate plodder of modern art who steadily climbed the mountain. Giacometti, innately more gifted who took up the challenge. And all the other heroes: Picasso when he and Braque were one person. Gris as the best of the lot. Lipschitz, the sculptor and Soutine for bending space. Bomberg and his followers. Bacon, the master trickster. Hopper, de Kooning and Diebenkorn and all my fellow loser artists on this site and elsewhere for dreaming and persisting and never giving up in the face of ridicule, envy and outright contempt. |

Thanks for your nice comments about my work. In answer to to your questions, I generally paint with oils on canvas, I did a couple of wooden boxes like the one you see here. Really the concept occurred to me and I gave it a shot and although I don't think I realized the impossible notion that I had, the end results were kind of interesting. |

Interesting work. I visited your website and enjoyed viewing all your paintings. Thanks for your nice comments about my work. We're practically neighbours, maybe I'll bump into you one day at Loblaws. |
