Hall II has been a fine artist for over 20 years. He currently is an Associate Professor at Broome Community College in New York, where he teaches foundation courses in Fine Arts. Groat has had solo exhibitions at Roberson Museum of Art, Everson Museum of Art, Washington and Jefferson College, Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Finger Lakes Community College, Cazenovia College, Lemoyne College, and various other institutions.


In 2006 Groat became involved with the new international contemporary art movement called "A Painting A Day" which originated in the United States. This new model was introduced to the world by, Duane Keiser, from Richmond, Virginia, and emerged on a global scale in 2004 through the confluence of various cutting-edge cyber elements, including popular auction sites, blogs, youtube and message boards through Google Groups. This initial model has evolved into a global view of fine art, nurtured by the Internet's public domain status and free from the influence of traditional institutions.
