I had such a crush on the girl in Vermeer's original portrait when I was a kid. Then I saw Ghost World, one of Scralett's first movies, and thought "Who is that incredible angel?" Of course we now know she's no angel but that's even better. Anyways when I saw the film I knew I had to run back to my studio and paint her. Its oil on canvas and its sold.
