High Wire Disappointment

shooting star: hope unbridled
telephone pole at left: distant memories of happier times
right telephone pole: cold hard truth of the here and now
inflated balloons: naivety, faith, hope, and such
popped balloons: loss of childhood innocence and bliss
left bird: stealthy hard knock times closing in
right bird: personified pain satisfied in one's demise
high wire: delicate balance of life in parallels
skeleton: ultimate inner essence of the rightfully doubtful
band aid at left: mockery of childhood remedies

as we grow up, we face times that rob us of the ability to trust in people, God, ourselves, and situations. We become this skeleton once the last balloon is popped by the bird. the bird takes all. the only telephone pole we can ever really see is the one looming ahead. we are, however, always tied to both the past and future. sadly, the remedies of youth fail to heal.
