"After being a performance Artist for seven years at the Clédalique Gallery in Cadaques Spain, a Dali foundation created by himself and Miette, I returned to painting and began experimenting acrylic on Plexiglas in 1997. The Clédalique was unique, I made performances for the gallery openings, I had a total liberty. I used to involve peoples on the street, Apiculturists, avant-garde Musicians, Toreros. From performances to Painting I learned to integrate the shadow as a part of the body, the re-composition of the form as an interface to human evolution trough the space-time continuum. The return of the fury as a non-subjective theatrality. A painting as a surface of balance between the inner and the outer, the archetype of inner reality."

"I’m trying to Re-up the conception of reality, limited by our fears facing the depth of Universe."

Jean-Noel Chazelle is a French artist currently residing in Paris,
France. He has exposed at galleries in the USA: Kolok Gallery, Hans
Feyerabend; in Paris at the gallery of Sasha Tarrassoff; and in
Northeastern Spain, in a region called Catalunya (Galerie Clédalique).
He works with multiple supports (paint, sculpture, photo, performance,
installation) and media (photo, film, sound).

Born in Dakar, I left Senegal at the age of six and a half. Nourished
by the complexity of the landscape, the animals and the African myths,
I spend my time between Paris and Spain.

In Spain, where in 1987, Miette, (sculpture and painter), invited me
to collaborate at Le Rachdingue, situated at the foot of the Cap de
Creus. Founded in 1967 by Miette, Dali, and Henri-Francois Rey, Le
Rachdingue Fondation d'Art Contemporain (Rachdingue Contemporary Art
Foundation) opened its doors under the plause of a discotheque
surréaliste. The Foundation worked in collaboration with the
Teatre-Museu Dali (The Dali Museum in Figueres, Spain); and Miette's
gallery, La Cledalique (Cadaques, Spain). Miette entrusted me with the
artistic direction of the Foundation for over seven years.

Working on different supports: painting (canvas, Plexiglas,
cardboard), performance, installation, video, photo, sculpture and
poetry; I created La Ruche au Papillon, fixed on the terrace at the
Rachdingue, a sculpture in metal, presented "Rose selavy vous dit
merci," a performance in homage to Duchamp to hiswife,Teena Duchamp);
and entamed a collaboration with Etant Donnes (Marc and EricHurtado).

After being a performance Artist for seven years at the Clédalique
Gallery in Cadaques Spain, a Dali foundation created by himself,
Miette and Carlos Lauzano, I returned to painting and began
experimenting acrylic on Plexiglas in 1997. The Clédalique was unique,
I made performances for the gallery openings, I had a total liberty. I
used to involve peoples on the street, Apiculturists, avant-garde
Musicians, Toreros. From performances to Painting I learned to
integrate the shadow as a part of the body, the re-composition of the
form as an interface to human evolution trough the space-time
continuum. The return of the fury as a non-subjective theatrality.

A painting as a surface of balance between the inner and the outer,
the archetype of inner reality.

There I meet Montserrat Dali the cousin of Salvador, introduce my work
on video performance to Teeny Duchamp. I dedicate my statement to
MietteTeeny and Montserrat because they introduce me to the infinity
kissing reality. What they called: « A realism ».

I remember the Windsor Lake in North Adams when I was swimming with
tainted inks colored hands. The videos project "Abatacook
Umcoleus"naturally working throug my mind.

Distance must be kept from a painting if you want an access to secret
keys, I spent my time in cap de creus in Catalonia Spain near
Cadaques. So much time in this natural Hallucinogenic country side,
the game land of Salvador Dali, Pujols & Gaudi. Still in the sky
Hannibal Elephants passage.

I'm trying to Re-up the conception of reality, limited by our fears
facing the depth of Universe

Statement:

My work is centered around the energy vehiculed by light, the
perpetual metamorphosis, intemporality, the concept of the chrysalide,
the integration of the principal, chaos and the dialogue of
fundamental energies revealed by Matter.

My new work capture the form and language of chaos in all its
manifestations against the deaf echo and depth of the universe,
providing the viewer with an interior and exterior life that reveal
what I call « the infinite chrysalis metamorphosis ».
