Hey, I saw your web site and your portfolio that you are having there , and I really have never seen anything like this before in my life.
At the first site , everything looks like the game , but after few seconds I realized that the real beauty of your art is the simplicity that is strong as much as the braveness of your compositions.
Defiantly there is very strong and honest sensitivity and love for nature, too. However, what I like most is the name that is matching with your paintings in mysterious way.
I like "Arising Awareness", "Vibrancy”,”More Than Any Rose”,” Whispering Winds”,” Wilderness Holy"...

I wish you the best.

Work: "Soul Center" by Hallah John Paul Boltik

Piece: Soul Center

I love the story behind this piece. I love the idea of history being encapsulated in the work. The colors are so vivid and I like the way the paint reacts to the rough surface. How tragic that they just renovated the church before the catastrophe. Did the church survive? Bravo on your blog entries. Such emotion can only make better art and it certainly has translated into some beautiful works for you.

Namaste,

Abby

I know that I'm not telling any of you anything new that when someone says to you "WOW!! Being a painter (or any other type of creative person) sounds sooooooo romantic, what a dream job!!" that you often times look around yourself and the particular challenges that come with following your dreams, and you can only imagine that their job must be torture beyond measure, whatever it is!!

Such was the case with the Rossini Festival, here in Knoxville Tennessee, Saturday April 19th, 2008.

Set-up was done in the rain, wind gusts were well above 30 mph and never really subsided, and the sun was absent for the majority of the day, causing the area the artists were set up in to be 10 degrees colder than the mid-60's high for the day. Let's just say, I'm glad that I didn't bring out my napkin art!! (That's a big ol' LOL, I don't do napkin art). In the past, I have sold hundreds of paintings on the streets of many a metropolis, in every type of weather, dealing with anything and everything you can imagine. I have also done the same in galleries, and though they seem a world's worth of difference, they both come with their difficulties. People who come to a gallery show just so they can drink free wine and eat cheese and hob-nob with the hoi polloi as well as the rich and shameless, all the while ignoring the artwork you've worked so hard to produce, and which no amount of money could truly recompense (not to mention the gallery's cut), is akin to the various hardships of the outdoor market.

To deal with either the elements or the mind-set of the viewer/potential buyer while virtually giving away a part of yourself, is not an easy task, but somewhere within us, we must believe that it is far closer to what is our true calling than flipping burgers or word-processing, and in the end, that we would not have it any other way.

I believe, therefore, that is up to us to decide how romantic and dreamy our lives as artists are.

Hurricane Katrina Artists
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My name is Hallah John Paul Boltik, and I am an artist who was evacuated 11 days after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans (as well as a great deal of the Southern Gulf Coast) on August 29th, 2005. I count myself as one of the lucky ones, blessed and grateful... I lost everything, other than most of my artwork which is my livelihood, but I was alive. Others were not so fortunate, and though my life has been changed forever and more deeply than any other could possibly know, I know, that at least I am alive with the opportunity to continue to create paintings which inspire and brighten other's lives.
You may view my website or google my name all over the web whenever you wish, but I am writing this blog in the hopes of raising awareness towards the efforts of other artists to continue their personal recovery as well as their devotion to help rebuild their communities and to revitalize their regions, some of the oldest and culturally richest areas of America.
I hope that you will take the time to visit the website of a friend of mine, who has done a fantastic job in trying to stay on top of the world of art in the South, post-Katrina, and has provided an excellent service for artists in the area:
http://www.katrinaartists.com
Please take a few moments to visit the artists, read the short blog, and through the modern marvel of networking, who knows? Maybe one text here, one click there, one e-mail here, and one phone call there, and you've helped America recover from one of the worst natural (and man-made) disasters it has ever experienced.
Thank y'all, and God Bless!!
